John Rodriguez

Beloved husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, uncle, and friend, John Rodriguez, 66 of Avendale Arizona passed from this life November 14, 2015. He was born October 13, 1949 the fourth child of Soledad and Margarito Rodriguez in Toppenish Washington. John attended and graduated High School at Granger High School. He went on to attend the University of Washington to further his education. On November 16, 1980 John married Renee Gauthier and brought two families together as one, which included their children Peter, Christina, Gabriel, and Alicia. John and Renee were married for 35 years and 7 grandchildren made life much sweeter for them both becoming grandparents. When John was 21 he went to work for the State Washington as a support enforcement officer until he retired in 2011. After retirement he and Renee moved to Arizona. John liked to read and collect books written and signed by John Grisham. He also liked to collect baseball cards, spending time with family, especially the grandkids, and being a marathon runner. John is survived by his wife of 35 years; Renee Rodriguez, his children Gabriel (Maura) Rodriguez, Peter (Lisa) Rodriguez, and Christina (Manuel) Hernandez. Mother; Soledad Rodriguez. Brothers: Margarito “Mark” (Louisa) Rodriguez, Roberto (AnnMarie) Rodriguez, Joe (Teresa) Rodriguez, Ezekiel Rodriguez, Luis (Judy) Rodriguez, Ben (Jane) Rodriguez, and David Rodriguez. Sisters: Rachel (Kevin) Jacob and Suzanne Lopez. Brother in Laws: Paul (Mary) Gauthier and Greg Gauthier. Sister in Laws: Madelyn Gauthier, Jackie (Steve) Brown, Terri (Darrel) Small, 7 grandchildren, Aunt Carmen Montoya, and numerous nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his father; Margarito Zapata Rodriguez. Viewing and visitation will held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon Saturday November 21 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside followed by graveside services at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens. A reception will be held at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside following graveside services.
