John Monico Gamino, age 95, on September 5 at 6:08 PM passed to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving children.
Born in Topeka, KS; John spent his younger years in Topeka, then Greely, Colorado and Denver. In his early 20’s he left Denver for San Francisco then came to Washington where his sister Pilar lived. While in the Yakima Valley he met the love of his life, his future wife Esther Larez. They married and settled down to raise their family.
Dad was an independent trucker who worked with many local farmers.
He enjoyed traveling with his children, and he liked to tell us how things have changed from when he first came to Washington. He also enjoyed going to Denny’s with friends and family.
John is preceded in death by his wife Esther (Larez) Gamino, Son Rosendo, sister Pilar, brothers Guadalupe and Joseph, and his parents Domingo and Refugia (Rayas) Gamino.
He is survived by his siblings Salu, Demetrio and Delores, his children Armandino (Wife) Krista, Bobbi, Renée, Richard (Wife) Clara, and Roxie (Husband) Patrick Weller, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grand child.
Viewing will be held Monday, September 10, 2018, 5:00 PM with Recitation of Rosary from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM at Valley Hills Funeral Home, located at 218 W. 3rd Street in Wapato, WA. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church located at 509 S Satus Ave in Wapato, WA with burial to follow at the Reservation Community Memorial Park located at 5161 W Wapato Rd in Wapato, WA. There will be a reception to follow at the All Nations Center located at 3020 Ashue Rd in Wapato WA.
