John Paul Ellis, 79, of Yakima, Washington, passed away on August 25, 2016 following a long illness. John was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on September 13, 1936 to the late Paul Campbell Ellis and Alice May Taylor Ellis. John served in the Marines during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and camping and working his full-time job that he held up until a few months prior to his passing.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Ellis; a sister, Dorothy Pederson; and his beloved Cindy the fish-pointing wonder dog. Survivors include his wife, Mavis, and children Don Ellis of eastern Tennessee; Christy (Joe) Paulley of Bloomington, Indiana; Teresa (Michael) Beggs of University Place, Washington; Sam Ellis of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Lucas (Angela) Winn of Frederick, Maryland; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be 10:30am, Monday, August 29, 2016 in the Valley Hills Funeral Home Chapel (2600 Business Ln, Yakima).
