John Barrett

March 19, 1965 — November 6, 2016

John Lloyd Barrett was born March 19, 1965 in Yakima, WA. His parents were Virgil L. Barrett and Naedean B. Barrett (Cooley) who were also born and lived much of their lives in Yakima. John was preceded in death by his first wife, both parents, paternal grandmother Vera Baker Barrett (Jones) and maternal grandmother Louisa B. Cooley (Landreth) whom he cherished and her memory. John was 51 and was tragically taken November 6, 2016. John was mechanically inclined a gift that he inherited from his father, a master of many trades. John was out of his family’s life for many years (20) before he believed, and I believe, God called him to find and reconnect with his parents before their passing. John had a hand in care-giving for both parents and reconnecting with many family members. One of my silliest fond memory was while John was helping me to bleed my brakes and I pumped the gas! He yelled “Claudette, I said Brakes, not the Gas!” We broke into laughter. John spent the last five or more years living and helping his niece Corrina Ramirez and friend Eddie. They were his allies and loved and helped him through many situations. We and his two small dogs loved and miss John Lloyd (as he preferred to be called). Our many memories of him will remain in our hearts. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:00 am at Valley Hills Funeral Home Chapel (2600 Business Ln., Yakima) with graveside inurnment to follow at Tahoma Cemetery (Yakima).
