Joe Garcia Jr. passed away as he lived, surrounded by his children and grandchildren, on November 5th, 2018. Joe generously shared laughter, wit, and humor throughout his life, which endeared him to the hearts and memories of many friends and family. Growing up, Joe was the youngest living child of eight children. His strong dedication to work was a wonderful example to his family. Joe started working early, he worked welding freight, Coast Guard and icebreaker ships at Lockheed Martin West Seattle. Joe came home to work as a welding instructor at Perry Technical Institute, and studied as an electrician at Perry Technical Institute in Yakima, WA. He received his calling to serve hardworking families from the United Food Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) and did so for many years as an international representative. He retired in 2000. He was preceded in death by his mother and father José Garcia and Maria C. Garcia-Rivera, his siblings Mary, John, Alex, and Solomon, and cherished friends who will be there to welcome him home. He is survived by his siblings Roberta (Bobbie) Garcia, Albert Garcia, and Moses Garcia, and many nieces and nephews; his children Joe Garcia III, Katherine Neal-Garcia, Nick Lopez, Michelle Razo-Garcia, Reuben Garcia, Jackie Lopez-Delgado, Richard Lopez, Robert Lopez, and Sherie Lopez; respected wives and many treasured grandchildren, great-grandchildren and blessed friends. Services will be Friday, November 16th, 2018, 11:00 am at Valley Hills Funeral Home located at 218 W. 3rd Street in Wapato, WA with the burial to follow at the Reservation Community Memorial Park in Wapato, WA.
