Jimmy Mears

Jim Mears passed away December 10, 2015 at the age of 66 from complications of primary lateral sclerosis. Jim was born in Yellville, Arkansas but lived most of his life in Sunnyside Washington. He had been a resident of Prestige Care in Sunnyside for the past year. Jim worked for many years as a truck driver for Safeway and Gary Mears Trucking. He was last employed at Kenyon Zero Storage in Grandview. He loved spending time with family, especially his nieces and nephews and was an avid NASCAR fan. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; Troy and Lois Mears, brother; Paul Mears, and sister: Betty Hall. He is survived by his sisters: Bonie (Larry) Houser, Judy Orth, and brothers Russell (Velma) Mears, Carl (Bonny) Mears, and Blaine (Marilyn) Mears, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 9th, 2016 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Heart Links Hospice in Sunnyside or post 3428 of the Sunnyside VFW.
