Jesse was born in Toppenish, WA. to Owens and Sarah Yallup on December 17, 1956 in Toppenish, WA. Jesse went to schools in White Swan, Wapato, and graduated from Glenwood High School. He worked in various jobs in his early life one them was with the Forest Development, Thinning crew, he also worked in a sawmill and other jobs. Eventually he was accepted into an Ironworker program and worked as an Ironworker for several years working in several states and eventually he and a couple of other friends worked in Louisiana on a dam project. He moved to Warm Springs OR. He lived and worked there as a Millwright at the Warm Springs Forest Products sawmill. Then Jesse found work at the Yakama Nation Forestry Program as a scaler, there he worked until his untimely passing. Jesse was a hard worker and had always found work doing something. He also was a fisherman, hunter, and cut firewood. When he found time to relax, he enjoyed powwows as a drummer and a dancer. He watched sports, especially the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Supersonics, and the Seattle Mariners, it was said he bled blue and green. When he had a chance he attended sporting events to watch his children and grandchildren, he mainly watched basketball, his favorite sport growing up. He spent time with family and friends to share stories, food, and to have a good laugh. Jess is survived by Mona Morrison, his common law wife, brothers Glen (Connie) Yallup and Eugene Yallup, sister Delphine "Dolly" Dave. Daughters: Sarah (Steve) Bueno), Yolanda Yallup, and Karlen Yallup Son: Tanner Yallup. Grandchildren: Douglas Finley, Stella Bueno, Steve Bueno, Jr., Daysha Bueno, Thomas Tulee, Eric Tulee, Jr., Alisha Yallup, Nizhoni Yallup, and newborn, Jesse Yallup II. Stepchildren: Melissalyn Totus-Morrison, Joe Deluna, and Kamela Tewee. Jesse is preceded in death by his parents Owens and Sarah, Sons: David Miller and Manny Miller, Sister Willene Yallup, and granddaughter Darlyne Yallup. The Dressing Services are going to be held at 9:00 AM Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the White Swan Longhouse. Night Services will be at the White Swan Longhouse on Tuesday 28, 2016. The procession will leave the White Swan Longhouse at 6:00 AM on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, and proceed to the Celilo Cemetery, in Celilo, OR.
