Jerry Ray Tanewasha born March 27, 1954 went to the creator surrounded by family on June 29, 2018.
He attended Granger School District, his favorite sport was wrestling. One of the smallest wrestlers who had a big heart. His hobbies and interests were bead working, going to the mountains to cut wood, root digging, picking huckleberries and going fishing. He was very skilled and knowledgeable with the traditional foods, medicine herbs and teas of the mountains. In his younger days he picked cherries for the families of Reddouts, Stouts, Parkers, all of Granger orchards, growing up knowing the Carpenter family also of Granger hops. He worked for Evergreen of Parker, WA and Washington Beef of Toppenish, WA.
He was preceded in death by his baby son Daniel Ray Tanewasha, his parents Kelly Tanewasha and Lucille Johnson Strong Tanewasha. Robert Bob Strong Sr., his sister Priscilla Ann Strong, brothers Robert Bob Strong Jr., Reginal Strong, Samuel Strong, Lawrence Tanewasha, and Anson Tanewasha.
He is survived by his longtime companion Marcella Lloyd, brother George (Doris) Strong Sr., sisters Ne’sha Jackson, Inez Rose Strong, Roberta Anita Strong, Anita Ann Tanewasha, Emma Jane Tanewasha, and Matilda Mae Tanewasha, the Seelatsee, Strong, and Kuneki families, and numerous nieces and nephews.
