Jerry Luisi

On the afternoon of February 25, Jerry Wayne Luisi passed away at Yakima Regional Hospital in Yakima WA. Jerry was 73 years old. Jerry was born in Yakima Washington and lived in the Yakima/Selah area his whole life. He was the first child of Reba and George Luisi. He was married to Bonnie Luisi on June 24, 1961 and she survives. Our dad was a wonderful and unselfish husband. He and our mother cared deeply for one another and were an example to us of “two becoming one”. He often showed his love through acts of service. Our dad built the family home, a lifelong project that started in 1973 and continues today! The same strong foundation he built with our family home, he built as the leader of our family. Dad was not the first to speak but when he did his words were filled with wisdom. He loved us (children) and provided us with the example of devotion, selflessness, hard work and honesty. Our dad was filled with joy. Quick to smile or laugh or especially to lovingly tease you, his spirit and presence were tangible. He dearly loved his 4 grandsons. He was so proud of the young men they were becoming. We have many precious memories of our dad, pictures and emotions that will forever remain within us. A friend recently shared his memory of dad “…bouncing down the road in that big ol’ dump truck.” Always with a hat on. We love you dad. And, will see you again. Jerry is survived by his wife Bonnie Luisi, his brother, Victor Luisi, his sons Jeff Luisi, Bob Luisi (Shelly) and Jay Luisi, his daughter Gina Bachmeier and four grandsons Grant Luisi (15), Matthew Luisi (9), Seth Luisi (7) and Sammy Bachmeier (6). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 11:00 am at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima.
