Jerry Hill

October 31, 1929 — January 1, 2024

On Halloween day, October 31st, 1929, Art & Gladys Hill welcomed Gerald (Jerry) Leroy Hill to the family. The family continued to grow, and Jerry was joined by two sisters. At an early age, Jerry took on huge responsibilities. He helped raise his two sisters while his mom was hospitalized. After several years, his mom recovered and returned home to the family. Jerry started his working career at the local grocery store when he was 13-years-old. He worked in groceries for many years, until being hired at Pepsi as a truck driver. His boss noticed Jerry's penchant for neatness and assigned him a new position as a Pepsi truck painter. Jerry retired from Pepsi after 32 years. As a young man, Jerry married his first wife Norma, and they welcomed their son Mike. Later in life, Jerry often went to the senior center dances. It was there that he met Patty and on June 4, 2016, they got married. They were a very compatible couple and enjoyed many activities together. They enjoyed working as a team to have a clean and organized home and a beautiful yard. Jerry was a kind and thoughtful person and had an easy smile. He liked to listen to Country Western music and collect Country Western books. Jerry was proceeded in death by his wife first wife Norma, his parents and his sisters. He is survived by his wife, Patty and her family, his son Mike, grandchildren Dusty and Misty and great grandchildren Claire and Breane. Jerry's passing leaves a huge void in all our lives. Services are at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Terrace Heights, Tuesday January 9th at 10:00 AM.
