Our mom went to be with dad today. She had lived 90 wonderful years and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was born to Clarence and Jean Tully in Yakima Wa. The middle sister of Patricia and Marilyn.
Graduating from Yakima High School she went on to Central Washington College
Where she graduated with a Degree in Education.
Her first teaching position was in the Yakima School District before she moved to the new West Valley district where she taught for more than thirty years. Upon retirement she received The Crystal Apple award for outstanding teaching. She taught at Mountainview Elementary School where she also coached volleyball and basketball, when the new junior high was opened she moved there teaching English and Math. Upon retirement she went on to substitute for many years. She will miss all of her students.
She married her husband Bud in 1950 and lived on the family farm until her passing.
She was also involved in cattle ranching in the 60’s and 70’s with a ranch in Union Gap.
She enjoyed all type of sports and was an avid tennis player in College often playing and beating the best men’s team players.
She was supporter of her son in his baseball and softball playing and could often be seen a Larson Park in her later years watching games.
A long time member of the Nob Hill Grange she held various positions, during her school years she was a member of the PTA and held various positions there.
She taught thousands of students and always enjoyed it when they came up to her in later years and would remember her and the time she spent with them.
Her son Tom and his wife Billie who was her caregiver survive her. Grandchildren Thomas and wife Yi, Kim Muir also caregiver, Sean Muir and wife Crystal, Eric Beernink and wife Terry, Jim Berrell and wife Ruthie, and numerous great and great grandchildren
She was preceded in passing by her husband of 67 years Bud.
She has gone to reunite with him again; We will all miss and love you very much.
There are no services at this time. A remembrance will be held for both of my parents this summer.
