Jeanne Dyke

January 16, 1931 — December 2, 2022

Our beautiful, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was met at Heavens gate on December 2nd, 2022 by many loved ones. Jeanne (Duey, Cloud) Dyke was born on January 16th, 1931 in Rattler, Texas. A town that no longer exists. Jeanne left everyone she met with a smile on her face, she was definitely a vibrant RAINBOW. On December 16th, 2022 The Yakima Herald ran Jeanne's full Obituary, if you would please refer to that publishing to view more on her life well lived. We, her family wanted to remind all her family and friends that on January 21st at 1 pm at The Yakima Country Club we are celebrating the life of this remarkable woman. It's hard finding words to describe Jeanne and her wonderful life. Most of you knew Jeanne from her place of business these last 41 years. A little cozy business named McGuires Irish Restaurant and Pub. When Jeanne and her husband Stan Dyke bought this little place named McGuires in 1981 it was a big gamble. Jeanne had worked at Min Da Lanes Bowling Alley since 1969, Stan was a carpenter. They decided Stan would keep on working as a carpenter so they had money coming in and Jeanne would run their new business, Mcguires. Jeanne's daughter Robin and her friend Donna Keefer helped Jeanne get the business up and running. McGuires became Jeanne's second family. She loved her employees and customers. She made it her business to get to know everyone. Often she would sit with her customers and listen intently to their words. Whether it was good news or bad news, boring or interesting she would politely sit and listen. She cared about her employees and customers and everyone knew it. Often coming to her for help or advice. Jeanne had a uniqueness about her. She was easy to talk to and was everyone's friend. She took great pride in this business she created. Mcguires was really not just a business to Jeanne but her FAMILY. Especially after her husband Stan Dyke passed away in 2003. She devoted most all her time to McGuires, either working or just sitting there talking to her employees and customers. As the years went by Jeanne started having health problems. Her Yakima family stepped up to help her keep the business open. They quickly learned that Jeanne's shoes were hard to fill. They got a better understanding of how much she put into keeping McGuires running. She will be greatly missed by both families. Her personal family and her McGuires family are all devastated by her loss. We all love and respect this beautiful woman and will forever miss her presence. Her legacy will live on through her family, friends and McGuires. Jeanne is survived by her son, J. Kent (Glenda) Cloud of Pascoc Wa.; their son Ryan (Jen) Cloud of Richland, Wa. and their 3 sons, Garret, Ethen and John Ryan; their daughter Shawna (Jesse) of Beaverton, Or., their children Kylee (Jackson) Oehling, Tyler, Katey, and Hannah; their daughter, Robin Cloud Gangle and her children, Rory, Riley (Stephanie) and their son Hunter (Mady), Rowdy (Jedidah) of Forest Grove, Or. and their children Kawai and Kennedy Jean (named after her grandmother Jeanne), son Tim Dyke, sister in law Francie Dyk. She was preceded in death by her parents Elzie and Aggie Duey of Kingman, Az.; brothers Jim Duey (Sue) of Northpole, Alaska, brother Danny known as Coon (Phyllis); son Ken Dyke of Montana and her husband Stan Dyke of Yakima. In lieu of flowers we would appreciate donations to ALL MUTTS GREAT AND SMALL OF Yakima, Wa. (please see FaceBook for more info).
