Jean Meyer

Jean “Jeannie” Frances Meyer, 65. She was born Dec. 28, 1952 in Yakima, Wa. to Frank and Grace Mae Meyer. Jeannie passed her rainbow to begin her Journey of faith on October 20, 2018. She was surrounded by her immediate family, Grace Ann Meyer, Bob Meyer (Sheila), nieces Eldeen Walker (Eric), Angela Hernandez (Martin), and Foster daughter Cece Howard. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three siblings Stanley, Terry, and Patricia. Jeannie leaves behind her “English Mum” Joan Tobuk (AK), close f riends Anne Lazenby (AK), Katie Hale (WA) and aunts: Virgina, Linnabell, of Puyallup and Viola (Ohio), nephews: Willie (AK), Rusty (MI), nieces: Beth and Victoria of (Ill), and Tina (Okla) She leaves cousins: Jody, Judy, and Tim, of Puyallup, Carrie (Texas) and Kenny (Calif), Cheryl (Utah) and many other cousins. She also leaves many friends. She never met a stranger. She spent her life time caring and helping others and those who could not help themselves. She was a true care-giver and foster mother to several children with disabilities. Jean graduated at Wapato High School in 1972. She attended college in Ellensburg at Central Wa. University where she studied “Childhood Development”. Jean traveled to Alaska and lived in Anchorage for 26+ years. She worked for several companies as a contractor to ARCO Alaska at Kuparuk and Prudhoe Bay as a materials specialist in oilfield supplies and Crowley Marine as materials support to the Alaska bush areas that included Bethel, Ak. In 1992 she studied accounting and trained in Tax Prep where she joined Premier Tax & Acctg, Partnership. She moved back to Washington around year 2000 to care for her elderly mother. Jean was instrumental in opening the Premier Tax office in Toppenish in 2005. She was the office manager until she became a full-time foster parent. She loved her foster children. She did her best to bring joy to their lives including taking them on little trips and camping out. She loved the outdoor environment, loved her horses, her pet cow, dogs, cats and her chickens. Jeannie will be terribly missed by everyone. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday December 15th, 2018 in Toppenish at MiPueblito’s Restaurant starting at 2pm.
