Janice Schuller

October 23, 1940 — September 21, 2017

Janice Elaine Schuller, age 76, of Yakima was called to heaven after peacefully passing away at home on September 21, 2017. She was born on October 23, 1940 to Fern (Ferris) and Harold Austin and later married Jim Schuller. Janice E. “Nana” was always game for an adventure and a laugh. To say that she was always active was an understatement! She was a member of the Together Church, the Women’s Century Club, Yakima Button Club, and loved hanging at the Harmon Senior Center. Before retiring she worked her whole career at Goodyear. The family wants to recognize all her lifelong friends who are too numerous to name, but you are all loved. Nana’s pride and joy was her family. She loved supporting the West Valley Ram’s football and wrestling teams and cheering for the Yakima Wildcats Basketball team. After raising her grandson Hunter from birth and caring for her husband Jim she had plenty of time to travel with her loved ones. She enjoyed travelling with Irene, Axel and Marla Rapcheff. Many trips with Trina and Emme brought her much joy and laughter. Some people come into our lives, some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for a while, leave footprints in our hearts and we are never, ever the same. Nana is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Katrina and Andy Vickers; grandchildren Hunter and Emme (Emmersen); sisters: Brenda (Curt) Dryer, Phillis (John) Stencil; brother Mike (Bonnie) Austin; and many special nieces and nephews; and her son-in-law’s parents Pat and Leon Vickers. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. An Open-House Celebration of Life will be from 12noon-3pm, Saturday, October 28 at the Women’s Century Club with light refreshments (304 N. 2nd St., Yakima). In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Women’s Century Club. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Janice Schuller, please visit our flower store.
