Janice Haynes

Janice J. Haynes, 78, of Yakima passed away on June 19, 2013 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center. She was born on May 25, 1935 to Elwood and Ruth Grove in Clark, SD. She lived in the Yakima Valley for over 60 years. She attended AC Davis High School and married Benjamin Haynes on December 19, 1954. She worked for various fruit warehouses and retired from Libby’s after 30 years of working as a sorter. Janice loved square dancing, bowling, fishing, camping, eating cookies, and spending time with her family. She dealt with crippling rheumatoid arthritis with strength, grace, and courage. Her trust and faith in Jesus Christ gave her hope and confidence in her daily life and in her life after death. She is survived by her daughters, Pam (Greg) Herbst of Yakima, Fredia (Scott) Thompson of Vancouver, Patricia Haynes of Yakima, and Lori (Bud) McRae of Vancouver; grandchildren, Nathan and Bradly Herbst, Melissa Butler, Caitlin Cox, Bonnie and Lilly McRae, and Abby, Ben, Emma, and Lucy Thompson; and great grandchildren, Carina, Carlie, and Camden Herbst, Cash Butler, and Austin Cox. She was preceded in death by Ruth, Warren, and Elwood Grove and her husband, Benjamin Haynes. A private family memorial service was held at Randall Park in Yakima.
