Janet Schey

Janet Schey of Wapato, passed away peacefully, Thursday December 29, 2022, at Yakima Memorial Hospital. Janet was born in Beloit, WI. on August 5, 1937, to Vern and Edith(Bates) Wilkens Janet was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Upon learning that the Kingdom we pray for is Gods government, under Christ Jesus rule, she felt the need to share the blessings that this kingdom held out for all mankind. This Kingdom or government would bring mankind back to perfection, do away with sickness, death, wickedness, and bring about the hope of seeing our dead loved ones come back to life on a paradise earth (John 5:28,29.)(Rev.21:3,4) This truth she shared with others including her children and grandchildren. Mom was a loyal servant of Jehovah God and found great joy in telling others about Bible truths Mom retired from Del Monte as a supervisor in 1996. Mom loved to travel; many trips to the Oregon Coast, Eagle Crest, Florida and Kauai. She was also known for making beautiful baby blankets. Janet married Melvin Schey April 19th, 1986; a very loving man that cared and loved not only her, but also her children, Laurie, Linda, Judy and Ryan. Janet is survived by her husband Melvin Schey; her children; Laurie Buehler, Judy (Jeff)Bushman, Ryan (Jenna) Nelson, Glen (Alexis) Schey.and Ray Schey, and sister Nancy Wilkens. Mom is also survived by 6 Grandsons, and 5 great grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her father and mother Vern and Edith Wilkens, her daughter Linda Nelson and her grandson Nicholas Buehler. A memorial will be held at 4pm, February 4th, 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses – 2506 W. Mead Avenue, Yakima, WA.
