On October 10, 2014, Jamie Scott Rogers unexpectedly left his family and friends on earth to join his father and brother in heaven to watch over all of us. Jamie was born March 21, 1968 to David and Robin (Shattuck) Rogers in Yakima, Washington. He attended school in the Yakima School District, graduating from Eisenhower High School in June of 1986 and Yakima Valley Community College in 1988. Jamie worked at Irwin Research and Development for 7 years before moving to Graham Packaging, where he had worked for the last 11 years.
In 1991 Jamie met Coni Raab and they were married in April, 1992. On November 4, 1992 Jamie and Coni were blessed with the birth of their first daughter, Danielle Josephine. Jamie was an avid Nascar fan and in 1993, two of his favorite drivers, Davey Allison and Alan Kulwicki, passed away. So on January 28, 1996, Alyson Kae (because Coni wouldn’t let it be Alyson Kulicki) joined his family. Jamie loved watching his girls play sports and he helped coached both of the girls’ soccer teams for a couple years He not only watched Dani and Aly but he enjoyed going to watch Robi coach his high school girls basketball teams in Zillah and East Valley as well.
Jamie was a Packers, Red Sox, and Nascar fan and every Sunday you could find him watching Football or Nascar on the TV and following both on the computer at the same time. He made sure everyone knew he was a Green Bay Packers fan. Jamie took up the game of golf later on and he loved going to the course to play a round each year with his nephews, Drew and Adam
On December 1, 1997, Jamie was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma. Jamie had been cancer free since February 1998. Jamie and Coni separated in 2012 but they still loved each other as best friends do. Jamie met Stephanie Pierce Morton in January, 2014 and she opened up a new love.
Jamie loved going to Nascar races, concerts with his friends or sitting around playing poker, and he was always knew how to make everyone laugh. The only thing that Jamie loved as much as his daughters was his mustang. He rebuilt his dad’s 1970 Boss 302 from the frame up by hand. He will be missed by numerous friends and extended family.
He is survived by his wife Coni of Yakima, daughters, Danielle of Ellensburg and Alyson of Yakima, Mother Robin Rogers Ford and her husband John of Yakima, Sister Nicole Phillips, husband Matt and her daughter Kylie of Fort Benning Georgia; Grandmother Donna Shattuck of Moxee; Uncle Shell Shattuck and wife Haylie of Moxee, cousins Hannah Slatter of Yakima and Carly Nall of Austin TX.; an Aunt Patricia Cossey and her husband Larry of Selah; his mother and father-in-law Patti and Larry Anderson of Yakima; Brother-in-Law Robi Raab with his wife Jenny and their sons Andrew and Adam; Brother-in-Law Erik Anderson with his wife Sara and their children Harper and Brooks; His Special Friend Stephanie Morton of Selah.
