James Mcgrath

April 13, 1944 — March 1, 2023

My dad, James Earl McGrath, 78, of Yakima, passed away peacefully (due to natural causes) on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Landmark Care Center. I was privileged to be at his bedside until he went to be with the Lord. My dad was born April 13, 1944, in Yakima, Washington to Tex Archie McGrath and Lorene Alta (Harr) McGrath. He was the youngest of 14 siblings. He attended Davis High School and graduated in 1962. He then served in the Army 1962-1965. On May 29, 1971, he married my mom, Judy Eunice Gallipo. He spent most of his working career as a successful salesman for McCormick Schilling & Spices. My dad loved fishing, golfing, and pheasant hunting. He had a terrific sense of humor and could make you easily laugh at his stories and antics. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Judy McGrath (9/10/2004) and is survived by his daughter, Casey McGrath and 4 remaining sisters, Rosie McGrath, Dorothy Drake, Jeanette Nielsen, Vivian Dufault and numerous nieces and nephews. My dearest father, James Earl McGrath, will be sorely missed, and an empty space is left in the hearts of those who loved him. Love you forever, your daughter, Casey. He will be laid to rest at West Hills Memorial Cemetary. Thank you Valley Hills Funeral Home for everything. There will be no services.
