James Grimes

James Edward Grimes was called to rest on September 29, 2022 in Pasco,WA at the age of 87. James was born on April 16, 1935 to James B. Grimes and Fern E. Grimes (Ober) in Bremerton, WA. The family moved to Ephrata in 1947, then moved to Wenatchee several years later. In 1955 James met his wife Marlene in Cle Elum, WA at the local safeway store. They were married for 52 beautiful years at the time of her death. James worked for Safeway Inc. 42 years to be exact. After James retirement in 2003, James and Marlene took an extended trip and saw many parts of the United States, with their 5th wheel and truck.Upon returning they went on many adventures camping and visiting different beaches in the Pacific Northwest and on the Oregon Coast. James was proceeded in Death by: Brother, Paul Grimes, Father, James B. Grimes, Mother, Fern E. Grimes,and his loving wife, Marlene Grimes. Survivors include: Son, Robert (Neriannys) Grimes of Murphy, North Carolina, Daughter Margaret (Kris) Kiser of Tucson, Arizona, Lisa (Ricardo) Gil of Kennewick, Washington. Six grandchildren: James Jackson, Heather Rice, Alicia DIaz, Diego Diaz, Xavier Diaz, Ignacio Grimes, 11 great grandchildren, 1 niece and nephew. James was a member of the First Baptist Church of Yakima prior to his decline in health. A Celebration Of Life will take place on October 15, 2022 at Ingalls Creek Trailhead in Leavenworth, WA starting at 2pm.
