We are sad to announce the passing of James (Jim) G. Cohn on March 6th, 2024. Jim passed at his home in Yakima, Washington. He was born in Seattle, Washington on July 22, 1941. Jim was raised in Alderwood Manor (now Lynnwood) by his adoptive parents, Sam and Bertha Cohn. Jim was a graduate of Edmond's High School. Jim was a 54-year member of Operating Engineers, Local 302. A successful career with Washington Asphalt Lakeside Industries, M.A. Segale, Inc. and Icon Materials. He began as a raker and moved up the ranks continually, finishing his last years as a project manager. One of his greatest continuous joys in life was finding his birth family. The Lamar and LaVigne families. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Julie; two sons James S. (Lynne), Robert; daughter Stacey Klier, stepson Jeffrey Palmer and stepdaughter Kristi Kelly (Michael.) Two brothers Kenneth Lamar (Peggy), George LaVigne (Judy) and sister Marie LaVigne Abbey, sister Marcia Cohn Floyd (Dick) many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as their families. He was proceeded in death by his birth parents and his adoptive parents, his stepson Michael Palmer, 3 brothers Edward, Lawrence and Louis Cohn and one sister Lillian Comet He was a wonderful loving husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and had many, many friends. Jim will be sorely missed by all. Everyone said he was a kind and gentle man. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, traveling and hiking. Last but not least, he loved spending time with family and friends. Per Jim's request there will be no services held.
