James (Shorty) Thomas Baker passed away on Monday December 30th 2024 in Union Gap, after many of years Alzheimer's disease.. Born on May 29 1945 in Bremerton WA to Richard Bejamin Baker and Mary Elnora (Hale) Baker. He was preceded in death by his Father Richard (Dick) Benjamin Baker, His Mother Mary Elnora (Hale) Baker His Brother Ben Calvin Baker His Sister Carol Ann (Baker) Choate He is survived by his wife Yvonne Iris (Bortz) Baker. His son Raymond Scott Baker, His daughter Tammy Lynn (Baker) Turner and husband Jeff Turner, his daughter Linda Sue (Baker) Sturtevant and husband Royal William Sturtevant and His sister Ellen Louise (Baker) Allhands and his bonus Son Danny Clark He had 9 grandchildren Ashley Guzman and Jesus Ball, Lila and Jackie Benge, Matthew and Ashley Briceno, Kendle and Allison Baker Michael and Mckayla Briceno, Sierra and Matt Eglin, James Sturtevant, Alexis Sturtevent and Hannah Sturtevant. He had 13 great grandchildren. Jasmine, Giuliana, Micheah, Dey'Ja, Melody, Raine, Ava Ronan, Myra, Jaxon, Aliana, Lorelei, and Courein. James grew up in Wenatchee, WA and graduated from Eastmont High School. He married the love of his life Yvonne Iris (Bortz) Baker in 1964 and they celebrated their 60th Anniversary, James and Yvonne settled in Union cap, WA in 1977. James worked for Goodfellow Brothers til 1979. He was a grade checker helping build most of the roads in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska, He then went to work for Waconi Training School in white Swan, WA as a mechanic for Heavy Equipment. He then went to work for Lynden Transport Inc. (milkyway) as head foreman until his Retirement. James loved camping fishing, motorcycle riding, racing and anything CB radio's. He did all these things with all his family. And in a note written to everyone he Said!"
