Jacqueline Whalen

May 31, 1951 — February 12, 2023

Jacque N Whalen departed home to be with the Lord on February 12,2023 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born May 31, 1951(71) in Sunnyside WA to Donna (Page) & James Smith of Outlook WA. Jacque went to Outlook and Sunnyside schools graduating with the class of 1969. She went on and had three beautiful children. She had many different jobs including the phone company and working in the food service industry loving to serve and work along side others. Jacque worked at chatter box as a manager in Sunnyside WA for many years where she ended up meeting her loving husband Richard (Dick). They got a place, blended their families with his two sons and her three children both from previous marriages. They had a working grape vineyard and big spacious gardens. She loved her yard and gardens to be pristine. She loved all flowers and plants. Her love for caring for plants she taught her kids (and grandkids later through her love of gardening). Jacque was a phenomenal cook and really perfected that skill when the family blended. Jacque also worked at Safeway meat department (Grandview)wrapping meat for several years. She greeted people with a warm smile. She went on to running the kitchen at the Walmart D.C. (Grandview) working in the same place as her daughter Susan. Preparing delicious home styled meals for the workers out there. Also working alongside her son (Chris) and daughter in law (brandy) for a winery as a scale house operator. She loved bringing small treats to the employees as a way of showing her love for everyone as she would often do for all her jobs. Everyone loved to stop and talk to her. She managed her work and friendships effortlessly. She went to work at Yokes (Kennewick WA) alongside her other daughter (Carie), as a cheese monger for imported and specialty cheeses. She always made sure her stations were beautifully decorated for the seasons. Everyone always looked forward to seeing her cheerful attitude making numerous friends from all department from the store. Doing several wine/cheeses shows she was entrusted to do. Jacque loved movies and taking long drives with those that loved her. She frequently took trips to the ocean and the aquariums which she enjoyed thoroughly. She enjoyed spending time and cheering on all her grandchildren at sporting events or school functions. She loved each and every one of you! She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was creative and always neat and tidy. She always looked out for everyone in the family and made a point of calling or showing up to spend time! She always made sure you felt special even if that meant just lending her shoulder to lean on. She could talk your ear off and had a great sense of humor. She was a strong and independent woman. Jacque was a hard-working mother, she made friends everywhere she was. She made people feel special and loved. She was easy to talk too and gave good advice. Although she faced many challenges in life, she always maintained an upbeat attitude in life with her infectious smile. After servitude to the public all her life, she suffered a life altering stroke Mother’s Day of 2013, leaving her careers behind. She lost some of her independence due to stroke but still knew what she wanted. Richard helped to care for her and had the most patience with her throughout the years of care giving. She prevailed through her health hardships and was still loving and giving throughout the years. She will be deeply missed but her memory will live on through all the people lives she touched.
