Jackson Tester

Jackson Monroe Tester went on to a better fishin’ hole on Monday, August 25, 2014. He was born on May 14, 1928 in Madison, Illinois. Monroe was a logger for over 35 years at Zwight’s Logging Company, C. Weiss and Sons and Layman’s Lumber Mill after serving our country during the Korean Conflict. Monroe enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends. He was an honored member of the Masonic Lodge of Naches, WA. Monroe is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Lori Tester, a brother, Marvin Tester, all of Arkansas. Monroe is survived by his wife of 60 years, Loraine Tester of Gleed, his son, Jackie Tester and his wife Kim, of Alabama and his daughters Loretta Tester, of Gleed and Cora Tester, of Selah, his brothers Jim Tester, of Texas, Troy Tester, of Arkansas, Kennith Tester and his wife, Diane, of Hawaii, Darvell Tester and his wife, Patsy, of Arkansas, and Thomas Tester and his wife, Donna, also of Arkansas. Monroe is also survived by several grandchildren: Jackson Tester, of Arkansas, Jason and Jay Tester, of Alabama, Laurel Darvell and Leslie Wayenberg and her fiancé, Shawn Dawson, of Yakima, Cody and Ashley Walker of Selah and Grace Gabbard, of Selah. Monroe is also survived by 5 great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Monroe lived a long, hard, good life. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Mark Bauer, his nurse, Tracey and staff, Dr. Norman Shivley and staff, and the staff of Memorial Hospice. A Memorial Service is pending at Ravens Roost will be held in honor of Monroe’s final wishes. Valley Hills Funeral Home is caring for the family.
