Jackie, our beautiful, loving daughter, passed away peacefully into the arms of her loving Savior on Sunday, May 5 after a long illness at Yakima Regional Hospital. She was born to Richard G. and Thea (Kolma) Friss in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, Germany on February 28, 1967.
Jackie attended East Valley High School and received her GED from YVCC. She also attended Trend Business College and participated in Perry Tech’s Graphic Arts Program. She worked for the Circle K store and for PAML as a lab courier before becoming ill.
She was a free spirit and enjoyed doing for others. She was always ready to give friends a ride and delighted in remembering them with gifts and cards. Jackie loved animals and her nieces and cousins. She enjoyed jazz dancing, driving her Camaro, riding horses, drawing and painting, and gymnastics. Her favorite music was “Kiss” and she loved her cat, AC-DC. Jackie will be missed greatly.
She is survived by her parents, Thea and Richard Friss of Yakima; brothers, Ted (Edie) Friss of Glendale, AZ and Rick (Sandra) Friss of Buena, WA; uncle, Robert Friss of Hudson, NY; nieces, Carli Friss, Lesli Burdick, Teddi Friss, Rachael Gilbert, Jessica McNary, and Randi Friss; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Gladys Kolma and Gordon and Minnie Friss; uncle, Marc Kolma and several aunts and uncles on the East coast.
Many Thanks to Dr. Chen, Dr. Tanwani, and Dr. Silverstein and especially Virginia and Emily for Jackie’s care.
