Irma Marie Alderson of Yakima Passed away on March 1, 2018 at Willow Springs Care Center. She lived to be 100 years old. The Lord took her home to be with her family in heaven.
Irma was born in Yakima, WA on April 9, 1917 to George and Gertrude Ehlers. She lived her entire life in Yakima except for a few years in Wapato. She was a homemaker and devoted her entire life to raising and caring for her family. She loved the holidays and always made her wonderful stollen (German Christmas bread) every Christmas. Prior to the death of her husband they loved to travel and spend time at their RV lot at Rimrock Cove.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church through her entire life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Kenneth Alderson, her mother and father and many brothers and sisters. She was the last surviving sibling in her family.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Norman and Sheron Alderson, daughter Marilyn Smith and son-in-law Dave Smith and daughter Deanna Ekstrom.
She was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She loved her animals and had many during her long life.
She will be forever in our hearts. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church (1207 S. 7th Ave., Yakima, WA) In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
