A sailor’s final journey
No more ports to dock, no harbors safe and warm,
The sea is all around me, a never-ending storm.
The sails are torn and tattered, the ropes have turned to rust,
I’ve sailed these waters long enough, and in the waves, I trust.
The wind, it howls like ghostly calls from days long past,
No compass left to guide me, no anchor that will last.
I’ve seen the distant lighthouses fade into the night,
Now I sail through endless darkness, lost beyond the sight.
The stars above have whispered tales of ancient men,
Who sailed across the oceans wide, and never came again.
Their voices call me onward, a siren's tempting song,
And though I know the way is lost, I feel I must sail on.
No more ports to dock, no land to kiss my feet,
The ocean is my mistress now, and I accept defeat.
For in the deep, there’s freedom, a quiet peace, so rare,
I leave behind the world I knew, and merge with sea and air.
The ship will sail without me, for the journey’s end is near,
But though I may be fading, my soul has naught to fear.
No more ports to dock, no shore to claim my name—
Just the endless sea around me, forever wild, forever same.
