Obituary Hector Joel Cruz Hector Joel Cruz (Chino), 51, of Sunnyside, WA went to greet his heavenly father on December 28, 2014. He was born December 18, 1963 in Indio, California to Rosendo Cruz Sr. and Julia Benavidez. Hector enjoyed fishing, music, playing his accordion and guitar at family gatherings, drawing, impersonating other people, and liked to say jokes. He was a huge Cowboys fan, enjoyed going to Goodwill and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Hector was always quick to put a smile on everyone’s face and make them laugh. Hector is survived by his wife; Maria Elena Cruz, Six children; Arturo (Monica) Carranza of Sunnyside, Susana (Fermin) Martinez of Mattawa, Eloy (Nancy) Hernandez of Sunnyside, Hector Cruz Jr. of Sunnyside, Tony (Rosa) Cruz of Sunnyside, and Christopher Roman of Texas. Hector had 15 grand children, Two sisters; Alfonsa Cruz, and Angelica Benavidez from Prosser, 5 brothers; Teodoro (Vangi) Martinez of Toledo Ohio, Virgil (Rita) Cruz of Grandview, Rosendo Jr. (Nora) Cruz of Sunnyside, Andy (Lisa) Benavidez of Sunnyside, and Daniel Benavidez of Boise Idaho. Hector is preceded in death by his mother; Julia Benavidez, father; Rosendo Sr. Cruz, two sisters, Yolanda Barios and Maria Guadalupe Reyes, Grandchild Alexavier Carranza, and Brother-in-law Mario Carranza. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm pm with a Vigil service at 6 pm on Thursday, Jan.1, 2015 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Friday January 2, 2015 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Burial will follow at Lower Valley memorial Gardens with a reception to follow at the funeral home. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside is in care of all arrangements.
