Harrison Truman Tainewasher Sr.

“Slo-Huk” • “Dirty Harry”

Harrison Truman Tainewasher Sr., “Slo-Huk” lovingly known as “Dirty Harry,” went to be with his Creator surrounded by family on February 27, 2026, in White Swan, Washington.

He was born December 21, 1945, in Harrah, Washington, to Lorena B. Sam and Newton Tainewasher and was also raised by his maternal grandparents, Francis and Edwin Smiscon. He attended Harrah School and was raised in the Shaker faith. He was married to atawi Matilda “Tillie” George- Sharloo for some time.

Harrison worked in agriculture, served as a Ditch Rider for Wapato Irrigation, worked for Yakama Nation Land Enterprise, and retired from Yakama Forest Products. He enjoyed fishing on the Columbia River, camping, hunting, huckleberry picking, and spending time in the hills with his family. Dirty Harry loved playing basketball all the way up to the 55+ and over tournaments. Also loved playing softball. He had a lifelong love for basketball and especially enjoyed watching the White Swan Cougars boys’ and girls’ teams, along with his favorite western shows

Harrison is survived by his children, oldest to youngest. Mary Tainewasher, Harrison Jr., Betsy (Harris) Miller, Perry Billy, Samatha (Jamie) Tainewasher and Sade (Derrick) Tainewasher. Siblings; Betty Nason, Clifford Smiscon, Chester Rodriguez, Angie Ashue, Patricia Ashue, Pam Wong, Phil Rodriguez, Syldia Smiscon, Felicia Smiscon, Rita Headdress, Sarah Headdress. Grandchildren; Joseph, Lorena, Addisyn, Larry, Brently, Tillie Goudy (Chad) and girls, Andrew Looney, Norma Tainewasher, Clinton Tainewasher, Evalynn Zack and Jennifer Wheeler, Julian (Esmeralda) Gardee and girls, Tanara (Garrick) Andy and Leia, Donovan (Keisha) Gardee and kids, Zachary (Alexis) Gardee and Jade, Raymond (Ciara) Cheney, Jessica (Naida) Cheney. Harrison is also survived by many great-grandchildren and extended family members, all of whom he loved deeply and held close to his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Junior Louis Sweowat, Oscar Tainewasher, Gilbert McFee, and Fred Sweowat; his son, Leonard Joseph Tainewasher; and grandson, Steven Anthony Ranes Jr.

Thank you to his hospice team and nurses Sarah and Michelle. Thank you to Sade and Derrick Wheeler for opening their home to me and taking care of me throughout my hospice care.
