Harold Wayne Glover, 73, passed away at Landmark Care Center on December 26, 2019 with his family at his side. Wayne was born on October 16, 1946 in Yakima, Washington to Thelma (Ventura) and Roy Glover. Wayne was the fourth of six children. Thelma re-married, Romie Ventura, and together raised all of her children on a farm alongside the Filipino Community. Wayne was very proud of that farm and what he learned working it. He carried to those teachings to his family, instilling the art of cultivating a garden to his own family.
Wayne graduated from Wapato High School in 1965 and was an avid football player on the team. Immediately after graduation, Wayne and eleven of his teammates / classmates walked down to the Air Force recruiting center, made a pact with each other and enlisted in the service. During his high school years Wayne met his high school sweetheart, Pamela (Taylor) Glover who on July 9, 1966 became his wife in Yakima. Wayne’s first duty station was in Florida where the two began their life journey together.
In 1971, their dream of starting a family came to life with the birth of their first daughter, Shannon Glover. Two years later, their love expanded again with the birth of Crista Glover.
Wayne was proud of the relationships he built during his time working for the Coca Cola Bottling Co. as a sales rep, UPS in Ellensburg, R&R Beverage as a route supervisor and eventually retiring with Carey Motors of Yakima. Wayne always expressed his pride for being a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Being raised in a Filipino home, Wayne developed a natural sense of pride and respect for the Filipino culture. He was an avid cook of Filipino Cuisine and his joy was barbecuing that pork. Wayne loved to Charter fishing trips and did so every time he got the opportunity. He loved his family and even though he was a quiet man, he often expressed his love for us all in different ways. His number one love was his grandkids. He loved them very much. Wayne is now in the loving arms of the Lord and is once again with his wife.
