Guillermo Nicacio, 86, of Wapato, WA, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024. Guillermo was born on Nov 2, 1937 in Eagle Pass. He graduated from Mabton High School in 1958. His journey as a social justice advocate began early in life, inspired by the struggles of his own family. Guillermo was known for organizing labor movements, negotiating fair wages, and ensuring safe working conditions. His leadership and commitment to the cause earned him the respect and admiration of his peers and those he fought to protect. Guillermo is survived by his wife Maria Elena Nicacio; children Mark (Teena), Debra (Refugio), David (Marissa), William, and Herlinda (Chris), 16 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, brother Richard (Maria) Nicacio and Pete Nicacio Jr. He is preceded in death by his parents Pete and Inez, two sisters Romelia and Eva and son Visente. Reciting of the Rosary and visitation will be held Thursday May 30, 2024 from 4-7pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home Chapel in Wapato, WA. Funeral service will be on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 10am at St. Peter Claver Church in Wapato, WA followed by burial at Zillah Cemetery.
