Guadalupe Gomez Sanchez (II), 95 years of age, our dear and much loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great, great grandfather passed away on January 2, 2019, surrounded by his family, at his home in Harrah, Washington. Guadalupe was born in San Manuel, Texas on January 13, 1923 to Juanita Valdez Gomez and Guadalupe De La Cerda Sanchez, Sr. He and his family lived in Harlingen, Texas until the early 60’s. In March of 1961, the family moved to Yakima, Washington. Guadalupe was a hardworking, religious, God-fearing man who loved the Lord above all and his family. He was a kind, decent, caring and gregarious man who always carried a smile on his face. He was a long-time member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Wapato. He was a man with a beautiful voice who loved to sing and music was always part of his life.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, half-brother Rafael Villarreal (Texas), his brother, Saturnino Sanchez (California), and his sister, Jesusita Sanchez Medina (Texas). He is survived by his wife of 73 year Leonor Marichalar Sanchez and eleven children: Marcos M. Sanchez (Irene) of Yakima, Amparo S.Castillo (Rafael) of Pasco, Dominga S. Hernandez (Jesus) of Moxee, Guadalupe M. Sanchez Jr. (Lupita-dec.) of Harrah, Raul M Sanchez (Maria) of Yakima, Diana S. Gomez (Johnny) of Wapato, Yolanda S. Quevedo (Antonio) of Harrah, Elisa S. Alejo (Salvador-dec.) of Terrace Heights, Leonor S. Negri (Fred) of Yakima, Rosie S. Garza (Juan) of Harrah, and Norma S. Velazquez (Horacio) of Toppenish.
In all, Guadalupe is survived by his wife, eleven children, thirty-three grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.

Public viewing from 4:00 pm - 6:00pm with Rosary starting at 6:00 pm Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church (1707 S. 3rd Ave., Yakima). A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 10:00 am with burial following at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
