Guadalupe Magaña Vargas Mendoza was born July 21, 1941 in La Carrasca, Jalisco, Mexico, where she grew up. Lupe met her soulmate Alfredo Mendoza at infancy and had a bond that continued through adulthood, they performed together during Church Festivals and bonded even more. They married July 4, 1961 and migrated to the US in 1973. In 1974 they made Sunnyside their permanent home where they raised their beautiful children. Lupe worked along her husband and children in agricultural work for many years. She believed in God and the Virgin Mary.
Lupe was the most loving and caring wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She held the family together. She enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows, playing baraja and dominos with her immediate family and comadres. She also enjoyed her NFL Sundays. She had luck in always winning when playing games with her family, but if she lost she entertained everyone by accusing the winner of cheating. Abuelita had great attention to detail and we have many memories and ‘aha’ moments regarding her way of thinking. She enjoyed singing as her viejito whistled their favorite songs. She looked forward to having her grandchildren and great grandchildren over to play! Her favorite outings were Bingo Halls, Casino and fishing with her viejito.
She is survived by siblings: Silvano, Jesus, Pedro, Manuel, Beatriz, Ramon, Leonardo, Eva, Marcelina, Maria and Leobardo.
Children;Carlos (Toña), Gina (Socorro), Jose-Luis (Nati), Mary (Ricardo), Jorge (Elva), Oscar (Yoli), Sandra (Steve) and Jaime (Patty) 25 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Guadalupe Vargas and Apolinar Magaña, siblings Apolinar and Jose, grandbabies Jose Alfredo, Crucificio, Oscar and Angel.
Our Lupita is forever in all of our hearts and we are proud to carry on her legacy!
