Grover Jordan

November 12, 1975 — January 3, 2015

Grover C Jordan III “Same” (Sam), 39, was born November 12, 1975 in Fontana, California. He left this world to be with the Lord on January 3, 2015 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous eight month battle with cancer. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1994 where he participated in DECCA, sparking his interest in marketing and advertising. Before beginning his career in retail, Sam began modeling in local ads and commercials here in the valley. He followed his dream to South Beach Florida where he lived for several years. Sam was an adventurer who found happiness traveling. He had the opportunity in his short life to meet some very special people and have amazing experiences traveling all over the states. He was a certified scuba diver who enjoyed diving, road trips, and spending time with friends and family. Sam is survived by his parents Butch and Jeanne Jordan and his sister Lisa Jordan and family. He was preceded in death by many family members, including his beloved grandma Ellie Clark who loved him like no other. Our family would like to thank Dr. Chenal and everyone at North Star Lodge as well as Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital’s oncology and intensive care staff for their continued aid, support and understanding during this tragic time in our lives. Also thank you to Tami Grimm for her constant help and love for “Same” and our family. Sam will always be in our hearts and forever missed. Visitation will be at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Friday January 9, 2015 from 4 to 7 pm. Services will be held January 10, 2015, 10:30 am at Calvary Baptist church, 903 West Washington Avenue, Yakima. We will proceed to Terrace Heights Memorial Park for a short graveside memorial, and then back to Calvary Baptist for a reception. A thousand words won’t bring you back; I know because I’ve tried. Neither will a thousand tears; I know because I’ve cried. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Grover Jordan, please visit our flower store.
