Glen W. Lisle, Jr. was born on July 4, 1942 in Graham, TX to Glen W. Lisle Sr. and Kathleen (Ardis) Lisle. He lived in Odessa, TX where he met his wife, Helen Ann Gipson. They were married on Sept. 6th, 1963. Glen attended Stephen F. Austin College in Nacogdoches, TX where he graduated with a degree in Forest Management. He enlisted in the US Army and was drafted to serve in Vietnam in 1966. Glen served for 3 years active duty and 2 years in the reserve, and then was honorably discharged in 1972. Glen and Helen relocated to Toppenish, WA, where he was hired by the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a Forest Manager for the Yakama Nation tribe. Glen and Helen were active in their church, Calvary Bible in Toppenish, where he served as church treasurer for many decades. Glen loved the outdoors, particularly fishing and hunting. Anyone who ever knew him would comment on his kind demeanor and the easy way he could strike up a conversation with strangers. He was a tough Texan through and through, but with a heart for children and animals, especially dogs.
All who knew Glen also knew of his love for his Savior Jesus Christ. His family and friends are comforted by the knowledge that he is in Heaven with the Lord now. Glen is preceded in death by his mother Kathleen Lisle, his father Glen W. Lisle, Sr., his daughter Sharon “Jan” Besel, and his grandson Jordan Besel. He is survived by his wife, Helen Lisle, sister Janice (Lonnie) Keeth, son John (Jennifer) Lisle, grandson Jude Lisle and granddaughter Jasmine Besel, great grandson Riley McCoy, as well as multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Graveside Service was held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at the Zillah Cemetery. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
