Gildardo Cuevas

After a protracted battle with cancer, Gildardo Cuevas Ceja, 71, of Yakima, Washington, passed away peacefully Monday, September 17, 2018 at his home. Leaving behind his wife, Nelida Cuevas, his daughters, Yajayra and Francisca Cuevas; and his sons Hipolito and Edgar Cuevas. Gildardo was born September 25, 1946 in Arteaga, Michoacán. To Merced and Hipolito Cuevas. He grew up in a large , loving family with 7 brothers and sisters. Gildardo married Nelida Cuevas on June 14, 1980. Shortly after they relocated to California where Gildardo began his work as a painter. They later relocated to Yakima Washington in October of 1989, there he and his wife lived and raised their four children. Gildardo was blessed with a large and loving family. He enjoyed bbq’s, get togethers, camping, going to the casino, music but most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren. He is greatly loved by all his children and grandchildren and He was able to spend his last days surrounded by his family. Gildardo is survived by his wife, his children and his 18 grandchildren, as well as his brothers and sisters. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Viewing will be 9am-5pm Thursday and Friday, September 20 & 21, 2018 at Valley Hills Funeral Home (Yakima). Mass of Christian Burial will be 3pm, Monday, September 24, 2018 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church (Yakima).
