George Philip Fisher passed away on his 82nd birthday, June 14th, 2018 at Cottage in the Meadow in Yakima, WA, with his niece Susan Harter by his side.
George was born on June 14th, 1936 in Yakima, WA to George Thomas and Minnie (Mehrer) Fisher. He lived all but a few short years in Wapato, attending the Wapato Schools. He enlisted in the United States Army in January of 1961 with a six-year commitment. In May of 1961 he married Floy Jean Robison in Yakima.
George loved hot rods, racing, roadhouse country and classic rock music and was passionate in spending time on projects with his son. The friends he made were friends for life. He spent many years working on motor vehicles in the Yakima Valley retiring after 39 years at Howard’s Tire with a reputation as a much sought-after alignment man in the area.
George is survived by his beloved cousin Edna (John) Andreas; siblings Martha Miller and Dee Burnett; and many nieces and nephews.
George is preceded in death by his wife, Floy Fisher; his son, George P. Fisher, Jr.; his parents George T. and Minnie Fisher; his stepmother Eunice O. Fisher; siblings Mary F. Stevens and Karl Meredith.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27th at Valley Hills Funeral Home, (218 W. 3rd Street Wapato, WA 98951) with a graveside committal immediately afterwards at Reservation Community Memorial Park (5161 W. Wapato Rd., Wapato, WA 98951).
