Gayle R. Oswalt Rescorla- Howell
On November 3rd, 2019, after a peaceful day of church and lunch with her loving husband, Gayle Regina Oswalt Rescorla Howell went home to be with her Savior.
Gayle was born on January 31st, 1948 to Edith (Andreas) and Al Oswalt in Sunnyside WA. She spent her younger life in the Satuce area of Granger, WA. She met and married Andrew James Rescorla the summer of 1965 after a whirl wind romance. They raised four children together. At the age of 32 she went back to school and earned her GED and finished 12 years later with her Bachelors degree in Business. She also received her Dietary Manager’s degree all while holding down a 40 plus hr. job and volunteering at the college to pay for her education. She simply loved to learn. Gayle and James owned two businesses together; J&G Hardware and Pioneer Kitchen. In 2017, James passed away and Gayle in order to avoid loneliness, moved into Senior Living. There Gayle met the second love of her life, Jackie “Jack” Lee Howell. They fell for each other hard and were married November 4th 2017.Gayle and Jack said it didn’t matter how long they would be together, everyday was a blessing. So one day shy of their second anniversary, Gayle went home.
Gayle is lovingly survived by her husband Jack, two daughters; Angie (Gary) Sanders of the Nile area of Chinook Pass, Laurie (Kevin) Omta of Selah, two sons; Andrew James “Jamie” (Kristin) Rescorla Jr. of Yakima, and Josh (Lisa) Rescorla of Federal Way, seven grandchildren; Tim (Rachel) Buel, Cody (Heather) Clayton, Andy ( Kolby) Clayton, Ashley Rescorla, Jacob Omta, and Ethan & Mason Rescorla, four great grandchildren; Harmony, Kaleb, Hunter, and one on the way.
She is preceded in death by husband James, her parents; Al and Edith Oswalt, two sisters; Debbie Stanton and Judy Nuggent , brother-in-law, Mike Nuggent, and great-grandson Aaden James Clayton.
Mom we know you are dancing in the glow of God’s glory with all the family and friends up there. We know we will be with you someday, so this is not a goodbye but simply a, see you later.
A Viewing has been scheduled for this Friday the 8th of November from 4-6pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home Sunnyside Chapel (531 S. 16th Street Sunnyside WA 98944)
Funeral Services will follow on Saturday the 9th of November at 1:00pm also at Valley Hills Funeral Home Sunnyside Chapel.
