Gary Aliff

ALIFF, Gary passed away peacefully at his residence in Zillah on January 10th, 2021 after a long bout with renal failure. Gary was born to Clyde and Phyllis Aliff on January 12, 1946 in Eccles, West Virginia. Resided in Beckley , West Virginia until his family moved to Oakland, California where his father found work. Gary graduated from Oakland High School in 1964 and promptly enlisted in the Navy, became a Seabee, their motto: "We work, We fight". He was then recruited to the Marines where he piloted boats up and down the South China Sea coastline near Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1966. Gary went to college for 2 years on his GI bill to obtain his degree for structural engineering, after only 2 years he decided to quit college to work full time to support his family. Gary has worn many hats in his lifetime, and could fix anything with a motor. Had an uncanny ability to know what an engine was doing and fix it. He also was a great mechanic, cars and motorcycles. Did body work, could weld, restored old cars. He was also a construction and iron worker and had many welding certifications. Gary was also involved in many motorcycle organizations and did much charity work with these groups. Gary moved to Zillah, Washington in 1976 with late wife Susan and daughter Nicole. Where he has resided until his passing. He worked at a body shop in Sunnyside until such time he injured his shoulder several times and multiple surgeries later. He finally resigned his position. He retired 10 years ago and has continued to stay busy until his second heart attack. Gary was also diagnosed with renal failure and had been on dialysis until recently. Gary is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Addison (Ace) Aliff and Dovey (little dove) Aliff, maternal grandmother Ida Daniels; parents Clyde and Phyllis Aliff, son Brian Aliff, grandson Isaac Nash and former wives Susan Plunkett and Barbara Hixson. Gary is survived by his present wife Antoinette Vrettas, daughters Nicole Nash, Tina Doyle and husband John. Brothers Steve and Edward Aliff. Stepsons Andrew Baldwin, Jeremy Drouyor and wife Teresa. Grandchildren Ashley and John Doyle jr. ; Dominic Nash and Milayah Voorhees. Step grandchildren Allanah Kuehn and husband Brandon, Jacob Drouyor and wife Marissa, Desiree Drouyor, and Adayson Baldwin. Great Grandson Carter Kuehn. He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins that reside In West Virginia, California, and Washington. Memorial service will be announced at a later date. Gary's ashes will be interned in his family cemetery in Beckley, West Virginia, later this year, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers donations to The United Kidney fund in Gary's name would be greatly appreciated.
