Our beloved brother Fred R. Vasquez, 51 of Parker, WA passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 27th at Astria Sunnyside Hospital. He died of natural causes. Fred was born on Jan. 4, 1968 in Yakima, WA to Federico & Evelia Vasquez. Fred is a 1984 Graduate of Wapato High School where he ran track, cross country and was an excellent wrestler. He received his Master’s degree in teaching from Heritage University in 2011. His hobbies included cross county biking and he was a great chef. As banquet server, Fred worked hard at the Meydenbauer Convention Center, one of the largest event venues, in Bellevue. He also enjoyed life by serving others. One of his passions was missionary work for the Heroes for the Homeless for over 3 yrs. He also volunteered as a mentor for high risk youth in Renton and the Wapato Food Bank. Fred was close to his family, to his friends, and also his beloved dog, Boy-Boy. Fred is survived by his brother Joseph Vasquez; Washington D.C., his sisters Mary Vasquez; Nespelem,WA, Emily (Richard) Neilson; Ferron, UT, Alexandra (Jessie) Martinez; Toppenish, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents Federico & Evelia Vasquez, bother in law, Antoine “Tony” Atkins & nephews, Antoine “Sonny” Atkins Jr. & Jamie Reynolds.
