On Thursday, February 2, 2023 Frankie Benton Brown “Wantux Elow”, was called home peacefully at his residence in Wapato, Washington. He was born November 7, 1972 in Yakima Washington. Frankie is the son to LaRena Sohappy and the late Lawrence Brown, his siblings: Winna Switzler Stahi (Roger Stahi), Cris Polk, Oona “Ocha” Dittentholer (Thomas Dittentholer), Juliette Brown, Kenneth Simmons and Bruce fish.
Frankie attended the Yakama Nation Tribal School and Kickinghorse Job Corps in Ronan, Montana. Frankie enjoyed traveling to Pow Wows where he made lifelong brothers and sisters from numerous tribes. He was a member of the American Indian Dance Theatre. He loved creating feather work and singing with his brothers on the big drum. Frankie participated in the medicine dance, was a hunter and active member of the Wapato Longhouse. Frankie was a faithful Seahawks fan. He loved cooking, raising his kids and spending time with his companion. He also enjoyed playing pool with his pool family and participated in leagues. On his downtime he loved watching his soaps and taking care of his cats.
Frankie is survived by Olivia “Libby” Bailey, children: Kimberly “Kimmy” Brown, Tamara Wahsise, Leland Wahsise, Caleb Karl, Serena Bailey, Aaliya Sam, and various nieces, nephews and grandkids. He is preceded in death by: (daughter) Temisa Brown and (father) Lawrence Brown.
Arrangements as follows:
Dressing February 4, 2023 @ 10 AM, with overnight services at Wapato Kaatnum. February 5, 2023 Sundays services with overnight services.
February 6, 2023, - Final 7 songs at 7 AM.
Burial 9 AM at Union gap cemetery.
