Frank Dejong

June 1, 1951 — April 8, 2013

Frank Albert DeJong, age 53 of Grandview, WA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 8, 2013. He passed unexpectedly at his home. Frank was born in Lakewood, CA on June 1, 1959. His youth was spent on his family’s dairy farm in Marysville, WA. Frank graduated from Watson Groen Christian School in Seattle, WA and continued on to receive a Bachelors of Science degree in Animal Science from Washington State University. Frank married his high school sweet heart, Heidi (Lanting), on July 17, 1981. Frank and Heidi were married almost 32 years. Together they operated their dairy farm in Grandview for 17 years. Frank lived his life to be a Christ-like example, loving and teaching his family to work for the Lord and not for earthly gains. He served the Sunnyside Christian School community as school board member and president, Sunnyside Christian School Thrift Shop Board president, youth basketball coach, and enthusiastic basketball supporter. He was also a Sunday school teacher for many years at Sunnyside Christian Reformed Church. Frank’s greatest passion was his faith in God. He gladly shared it and portrayed this in his life. Frank is survived by his wife Heidi and his five children, Jared DeJong and wife Krista of Spokane, Vanessa DeJong of Yakima, Nicolas DeJong of Grandview, Marcus DeJong of Grandview, and Kevin DeJong of Grandview. He greatly anticipated the birth of his first grandson, due in early May.
