Francisca (Pancha) López Muñoz, 60, of Yakima, Washington, spread her wings and flew to heaven on Saturday, November 17, 2018, after having fought a very long and difficult battle with cancer. Francisca was born on October 23rd, 1958, in Dickens County, Texas, to Juan and Julia G. Lopez. Pancha attended Sunnyside Schools. She married her junior high school sweetheart, Arnold Muñoz, on September 13th, 1975. They were married for 43 years. She worked in agricultural labor for many years. She worked at Epic and other childcare centers as a teacher and cook assistant. She also worked in various retail businesses. Later she opened up her own Coffee shop. She liked cooking, especially making pies, enchiladas and tamales to sell. She loved finding bargains and antiques at yard sales and thrift shops. She loved cheering on her children and grandchildren at various sporting events. She was known to never miss a party invitation! She loved singing and dancing to all kinds of music. She grew up Catholic but enjoyed attending other churches. Francis was a people person and made many friends wherever she went. She welcomed anyone and everyone into her home. When others were in need, she was always willing to give a helping hand. Francisca is survived by her husband, Arnold Muñoz; her sons Arnold Muñoz Jr., Adam Muñoz (Yuri), Anthony Muñoz (Racheal), and her daughter Ashley Muñoz; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four brothers: Jimmy López, (Rosemary), Richard López (Rosie), Mike López, Manuel López (Josie) and three sisters: Adela Duarte (Isaac), Rosa María Tiffany (Jim), and Diana Morfin (Ramiro); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Juan López, her mother Julia G. López, four brothers: Arturo, Jesse, Johnny, and Danny López. A viewing and Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 29, from 12pm to 7pm and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 30th, at 10:00 am., both at Valley Hills Funeral Home, 531 S 16th St, Sunnyside, WA. A luncheon will follow the memorial service on Friday. A burial service at the Sunnyside Lower Valley Memorial Gardens will follow at a later date.
