Our beloved Francisca Garza Gomez went in peace to Jesus our Lord on November 13, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. Francisca was born on May 30, 1935 to Margarita and Francisco Garza in Hargil Texas. She was the 2nd of 13 children. As a child, school was a luxury but work a priority. Francisca and her family migrated to follow the seasonal farm work to Oregon, Idaho, and Washington where they finally settled in Sunnyside in 1962. Always a hard-worker Francisca managed a large and glorious family, taking time to enjoy music and friends. She enjoyed playing her guitar and loved to cook. No stomach ever went empty in her home and she could feed an army. The door to her home was always open and she was willing to help anyone in need.
Francisca is survived by her children; Gloria (Jessie) Sandoval of Idaho, Rosa (Maximino) Mejia of Sunnyside, Maria (Ramiro) Gonzales of Idaho, Margarita Noche Buena of Sunnyside, Martha (Juan) Chavez of Sunnyside, Lydia Gomez of Idaho, Luciano (Juana) Gomez of Idaho, Carmen (Martin) Mendoza of Sunnyside, 28 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother Margarita Moreno Garza and Father Francisco Garza, her son Gilberto Gomez Jr., and brother Luciano Garza. She will be missed greatly by many and live on forever in our memories and hearts. Special thanks to the Hospice nurses; Sherry, Pat, Elisa, and Juana.
