Frances Marie Wetherholt, 93, left us to be with the Lord on March 15, 2014. She had been living at Chandler House. Mrs. Wetherholt was born in McCory, Arkansas on Jan. 26, 1921 to Claude and Mary Belle Redd. As a young child she moved to Memphis Tennessee with her parents.
She met and married Howard who was in the U.S. Army and traveled many places. They had one child, Peggy. After Howard retired from the military they moved to Lincoln, Illinois. She worked for General Electric for 10 years. Her husband died in 1983 and she moved to Yakima in 1985 to be near her daughter. She had lived in Yakima for 29 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Voorhees (Jack) of Selah, two grandchildren, Carson Voorhees of Lewistown, Montana, and Jennifer Nelson (Scott) of Yakima. Also, she is survived by a younger brother Claude Redd, Jr., step children Sister JacquieWetherholt, SharonWilkes, and Keith Wetherholt. Internment will be in Waynesville, Illinois next to her husband.
Memorial services will be held at Trinity Nazarene Church on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, make donations to Trinity Nazarene Church in memory of Frances.
