In Loving Memory of Frances (Francie) Ann Schroeder.
On the eleventh day of the eleventh month at the eleventh hour of the evening, Francie Schroeder started the next chapter of her journey joining our Lord in Heaven. As many of you know, her last few years were a struggle against breast cancer, a battle hard fought.
She was born on October 23, 1943 to Doug and Mary Franklin in San Antonio, Texas. During her high school years, she moved with her family to Bellevue, WA.
Francie attended Yakima Community College where she met Bob Schroeder and they began their journey through life together marrying on July 31, 1964. Francie began her career as a world class mom with the birth of Rob and Kim in Wapato. Along the way Bob, Francie and the kids found themselves in West Valley. That’s when Eric and Michael decided to join them. A long stay in Wenatchee saw her children come of age, and start their own families. Coming full circle, Francie and Bob took their journey back to Wapato continuing the Schroeder traditions on Orchard Way. Traditions that included family gatherings, playing games and spoiling grand-kids, everything that Francie truly enjoyed. Bob and Francie traveled a vibrant 50 years of life’s adventures together.
Francie’s chosen career and true passion was to her children. She taught us to read, sing nursery rhymes and make cinnamon toast. Mom cared for our bruised knees and gave us gold stars. She had a passion for drawing and art that she learned from her mother. Mom encouraged her grandchildren to enjoy the creativity hoping they would one day pass it to their children. During the latter part of her journey, Mom taught us all to be determined, strong, and to have faith.
Preceded in death by her parents Doug and Mary Franklin and Sister Janice Herrell.
Leaving to carry on the journey her husband Bob Schroeder, her son Rob, his wife Denise and daughter Caitlyn. Her daughter Kim, partner Eric Gough and son Everett. Her son Eric his wife Jeana and children Ella and Christian (Ian). Her son Michael his wife Elena and children Mickey and little miss/mister so-n-so (arriving sometime in April 2014), her dogs Shadow and Bobby and her many friends and loved ones.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to North Star Lodge. This fantastic organization here in Yakima brought mom a lot of dignity and courage through the years of her struggle.
