Frances Gutierrez Guzman was born to Jesus Gutierrez and Carmen Garcia Gutierrez on October
3 rd , 1935 in Casa Grande, Arizona. She was one of twelve siblings. She had nine sisters and two brothers.
Frances married her beloved husband, Luis Guzman in Florene, Arizona on February 8 th , 1952. She and
Luis made their home in Washington State. They lived in Crewport and then made their home in
Granger, WA on Guzman Avenue. Frances enjoyed being around her family and friends.
Frances’ first job was working at her father’s store in Arizona pumping gas. She was a seasonal
farm worker and later a homemaker for her six children. She is survived by Rudy Guzman, Patrick
(Denise) Guzman, and Toefy Guzman all of Granger. Her son Manuel Guzman of Yakima and her one
daughter, Lisa (Roger) Guzman, of Yakima. She is preceded in death by her husband, Luis Guzman, and
her beloved son, Albert Guzman, and two great grandchildren. Her parents and in-laws, Julian and
Dominga Guzman. Her siblings, Ernest, George, Lola, Carmen, Sally, Sara, Dora, Virginia, and Stella,
Frances is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great children.
She is also survived by her sister, Christina Ochoa, of Tucson, Arizona. Two brother -in- laws, Steve
Guzman of Lapwai, ID and Fred & Josie Guzman of Sunnyside. One sister-in-law, Bertha Palominos, of
Yakima and Yolanda Guzman of San Antonio, Texas. Her dear friends Pilar Solis and Alicia Gamboa. She is
also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was surrounded by her family during the time of her death on April 18, 2023. Her daughter,
grandchildren, and the staff of Heartlinks Hospice provided care for her the last few weeks of her life.

Her viewing will be held at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside on Sunday, April 23 rd from 12-
4pm. The Rosary will be held at 4 pm.
A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Granger on Monday,
April 24 th at 10 am followed by a burial service at Lower Valley Gardens in Sunnyside.
