Our loving wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend, Frances Mae Glenn, passed away April 19, 2015 at her Yakima home. She was born January 19, 1928, in Seattle WA to Dennis and Celia Pierce. Frances married J. Melvin Glenn October 22, 1983. They moved from Sunnyside to Yakima to be closer to family and have lived in Yakima 31 years.
Frances was a homemaker and loved family gatherings. Her life revolved around serving the Lord, her family, and the community. Frances was an artist and adorned her walls with beautiful paintings. She loved to feed and watch birds in her backyard. Her little dog Cassie was a great companion. Frances' volunteer beneficiaries included Memorial Hospital, Wide Hollow School, the LDS Seattle Temple, and the LDS Emp[oyment Center.
She is survived by her Husband, Melvin, two daughters, Kathleen (Norm) Kleyh of San Diego CA and Marilyn (Danny) Greenberg of Seattle, WA. and a son, Ed (Sharon) McAvoy of Kingston, WA. Her Stepchildren include Gary (Tina) Glenn of Grandview, WA, Shari (Kent) Johnson of Parma, ID, Sue (Lonnie) Ellis of Yakima, Rick (Lisa) Glenn of Yakima, Greg (Shawn) Glenn of Vallejo, CA, Dana (Elaine) Glenn of Ellensburg, WA, Suzanne (Brad) Buchseib of Wenatchee, Lisa (Blair) Glenn of Highland, UT, and Rob (Karina) Glenn. Frances and Mel have 54 Grandchildren and numerous Great Grandchildren. Frances is survived by a Sister, Mary (Tim) Fallihee of Orange, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Celia, Brother Charles, Son-in-law Daniel and 3 Grandsons.
A Graveside service will take place at Sunnyside Cemetery on Monday April 27 at 11 am. A Memorial Service will follow at the LDS Church on 72nd Avenue at 3:00 pm Friends and family are invited to attend. A special thanks to Angie, Helen, Joan, Patti, and Alisa for their loving care over the last 2 years. Valley Hills Funeral Home is caring for the family.
