Floyd Eugene Heid Obituary On Christmas Day God got another angel taking Floyd Eugene Heid after a battle with cancer. Floyd was born Aug. 23, 1932 to George and Gladys Heid. He was the fifth of six children survived by his baby sister Nancy Heid. He grew up in farm in Zillah, playing baseball and basketball at Zillah High School. He attended YVC on a basketball scholarship. In 1955 he join the army for two years playing soccer and basketball through out Europe. He married the love of his life Charlene (Seedy) Carrier and had 56 years together. They had 3 children Mark (Cora) Heid, Teresa Ross (Joey Valenzuela) and Tammy (Bill) Smith, Floyd loved the outdoors enjoying many years of hunting and fishing with family. Family vacations were spent at the ocean and camping at Little Naches which continued on with the grandchildren. Being in the mountains brought him great happiness. He played basketball for the Nazarene Church for many years earning the nick name ˚Silver Fox”. He worked most of his life at Stokelys in Zillah, retired from Valley Fruit in Wapato. Floyd made every holiday memorable inventing and playing games with his children and grandchildren. The football games he always said “ I got one good play left in me”. Christmas time he set up a large Christmas display which took up the majority of the living room and was featured in the newspaper and enjoyed by many. He was an animal lover which lead him to hatch ducklings that would follow him around the house, after releasing them he could still call to them and they would come. Floyd in his later years played poker many a night with the “guys” If he wasn’t at home he was with them. They named him “The Snake” . He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Seedy and granddaughter, Ella. Floyd had 10 grandkids, 11 great grandkids plus 2 in the oven. Services will be in the Spring. Valley Hills Funeral Home, Zillah is handling arrangements.
