Florence Agnes Williams, 101, of Yakima, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015 in Yakima, WA. She was born in Moxee, WA on April 12, 1913 to Albert and Valentine (Charron) Capistran. Florence graduated from high school in Moxee. She married Howard Williams on May 9, 1934 in Moxee. For over 30 years they owned and operated Williams Paint and Glass Company in Yakima. The Williams were also local distributors of Shaklee Products for over 20 years. Florence was a member of St. Paul’s Cathedral Parish for 64 years and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church for 10 years. She moved to the Gasseling House in October of 2009 and then attended services at Holy Rosary Church. Florence felt as if she had returned home as she lived next to and attended Holy Rosary Church and school as a child. Florence spent many enjoyable hours golfing, bowling, gardening, playing bridge, and entertaining. Her family especially enjoyed the wonderful home cooked meals that she prepared. The feats she prepared for holiday gatherings were especially memorable. She is survived by her niece, Terri (Ward) Jackson of Yakima, their children Laura Jackson and Stephanie (Casey) Morgan and their children, Caden, Sadie, and Mason; and her nephew Neil (Paula) Blanchard, of Mount Vernon. Florence is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Williams, a son Bruce Williams, a sister Della (Bing) Blanchard, and brother Lester (Agnes) Capistran. The family gives a special thanks for the loving care and companionship that everyone at Gasseling House provided. Florence was blessed to be in such a beautiful and loving environment for the past five and a half years. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 4th at 10:00AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, in Moxee. Valley Hills Funeral Home is caring for the family.
