Felipe “Milio” Mendoza Sr, 84, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, passed away peacefully at Yakima Regional Hospital June 21, 2018. He was born January 10, 1937 in Agagrao, Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, in the Philippines to Ambrocio and Bonifacia Mendoza. Felipe held jobs as a security guard in Manila and operated farms where he grew tobacco, rice, corn and other crops. He also served as a councilman and treasurer for the Santa Maria Barangay. He and his wife Noemi of 60 years, moved to the United States in December, 1992. As a farmer in the Philippines it was natural for Felipe to work in several farms across the Yakima Valley and also operated a garden of his own to continue his love for farming and gardening and living the farm to table lifestyle. He retired from Delmonte of Yakima and spent most of his retirement taking care of his grand kids and great grand kids located in Las Vegas, Philippines and Wapato. Even in retirement he still enjoyed gardening, and most of all spending time with all his family. He was a member of St. Peter Claver Church in Wapato.
